Navymm98 Posted March 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2021 My Great grandfather Chelsea A. Atkinson. Enlisted on 1940 after he got out of the CCC. Apparently he joined up for the extra money! But he loved the army and the paratroopers. Unfortunately never got to meet him. He passed in 1980. I am fortunate to have his photo album and a book he got during his training at Ft. Benning. I'll upload that later. Don't have any of his uniforms but my grandmother has his jump wings he soldered into a bracelet.
manayunkman Posted March 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2021 You’re very fortunate to have these. Someone else on the forum just posted a 13th AB medic group.

manayunkman Posted March 25, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2021 That’s great to have them both. I bet if you’re allowed to roam around the house and look through everything you will find more from your GGF.
Navymm98 Posted March 25, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted March 25, 2021 Try to everytime I got home on leave. I have some of his personal paperwork and his CCC paperwork as well with is fantastic. Also his last drivers license with a photo taken right before he passed.
