Nkomo Posted March 21, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2021 1980s era Delta used rigger made vest. This has a double row of webbing at the bottom that allows it to be customized with the placement of various ALICE type pouches. The reference picture I am including shows at least one of the Delta guys are wearing a similar vest
mohawkALSE Posted March 21, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2021 Interesting piece, whats the body made of? A cotton canvas? You would think they would have done something on a mesh body like how the 40mm vests were but mesh also tears easy, this looks like a decent material for wear n tear. Nkomo Posted March 21, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted March 21, 2021 The body is a nylon type fabric. I do have a modified air crew survival vest and a modified 40 mm vest that are also of Delta origin (mesh bodies). What all three vests have in common are the two webbing strips at the bottom. mohawkALSE Posted March 22, 2021 Share #5 Posted March 22, 2021 That 21P based vest is sweet. Ive seen some at surplus stores by me that USAF Security Forces guys modified and used. One made me sad as they ruined a early pre 70 SRU-21P with the snap pockets.
