Hi,

This is a short sword scabbard that I have seen before, but now I can’t find a pic of it on the internet. I can’t remember if it was associated with a Militia sword or a sword from the theatre. It is a heavy robust scabbard meant for a serious sword. I don’t think it’s a theater prop, but I’m probably wrong. If anyone can identify it I would appreciate it. Thanks

I was thinking it could be fraternal, but almost everything I have seen in fraternal swords have been the long straight blade type. The short swords tend to be more for the military. I have seen theater swords trying to mimic Roman swords, etc... but they are flimsy theater prop type items. I have seen this type of scabbard and I believe it was either militia of possibly European for a military short sword of the 1860 or 70s. It was so long ago that I can’t remember what it was.

Thanks for the tips on the fraternal swords. I found it. This is the sword that is supposed to go with it
