viking73 Posted March 11, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 11, 2021 Hi Group - I picked up this rusty T-33 throttle on eBay recently. It's all there - the flap switch moves and the mic button moves, it's just a bit rusty as you can see. I might take it apart and refinish the handle - anyone here ever take apart a T-Bird throttle? Anything I need to watch out for? -Derek
P-59A Posted March 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 12, 2021 Can you post photos of the prefix numbers? The T-33 and P-80 used many of the same parts.
viking73 Posted March 12, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted March 12, 2021 Here's some photos of the numbers cast on the base along with an assembly stamp. What is the prefix for T-33 parts? -Derek
opus5150 Posted March 12, 2021 Share #4 Posted March 12, 2021 I have a different version of this throttle with the red "hat" at the top. I would be weary of the UV-baked plastic containing the switches - it's probably pretty brittle.
P-59A Posted March 13, 2021 Share #5 Posted March 13, 2021 P-80 prefix numbers are 174+, 175+, and 176+. T-33 prefix numbers are 176+, 177+ and 178+. Keep in mind you will find P-80 numbers on a T-33, but you will not find T-33 numbers on a P-80. Your 177+ number confirms T-33.
