For many years, AECo was a preferred wing pattern because there were little doubt about WHEN it was made (typically between 1942 or so and 1948). I know I sound like grandpa Simpson, but back in the day, people would even argue that ONLY pinback wings were WWII vintage, and clutch back wings were always post war.
