5thwingmarty Posted March 8, 2021 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2021 The first wing you posted can be found with both Bell Trading and Walter Lampl hallmarks. They are often called cap sized or sweetheart wings. They are sometimes identified as being pre-WWII enlisted aviator wings because they are almost always just in sterling, but that is just B.S. from sellers trying to pump of their worth and price. The other wing looks like a pre-WWII sweetheart wing, but I am no Naval wing expert. I can't tell if it has much of its gold finish left but it is a pretty little wing. B-17Guy Posted March 8, 2021 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2021 Both wings are for wear on a garrison cap and are known as cap size wings. Top is NAO (Observer) and second Aviator. As Marty said, there is no such thing as an enlisted aviator wing. Navy wings come in three sizes; full, mess dress and cap. John
