That's a nice PAL.  The M1905s dated 1943 were only made from January to April approximately, so there are fewer of them, than there are 1942s.

No.

It has the 16” blade.   With the stamps.    I’m having a hard time seeing if there is a difference.    What am I not seeing if it’s not the one mentioned. Ty

Foxhole1943- The entire thread started out as a question concerning a "AFH" made as a 10" blade that was dated. Not a cut down to 10" nor a 16" version.  Somehow it got off track in the last year or two. The 10" as made w/ date stamp are the rare ones.  SKIP

Ok !   Thank you for the clarity.    I will keep looking.   :-)

Haha, I keep seeing this thread pop up and hopefully showing the elusive 10” as made and dated. It’s like spotting big foot

For those who have not seen it, here it is again.  And yes it did pass the weld test.   I'm still searching for an uncut 1943 UC if anyone can help out.

I would maybe consider this as a trade for the M1905 1943 UC .  Cash or

my trade bait, a one of a kind Buck 185 with provenance.

So just stumbled across this thread (again) and decided to take a look at my bayo and want to know if it is on the "rarer" side or a common pig sticker.  It is a UFH 10" 1942 date stamped with scabbard.  Anything special about this at all or just a common run of the mill M1 bayonet?  I know, and don't collect, US blades of any sort but this thread makes my head spin reading through 7 pages.  Thanks in advance!

Thanks Marv, that is what I thought but with all the makers and dates swirling around this thread I think I had the "fog of bayonet" effect with makers/dates/10"/16"/etc. and I must admit I got a little confused not being a blade guy.  I am happy with my representative M1 bayo and she sure looks pretty on the end of the Garand so I am good.  Thanks for the input and confirmation.  Appreciate all on this great forum, even for a long time guy like me, to answer a question I should have known.  Best blades to you all, and happy hunting this 2024!

Got this from my dad decades ago. What would be a realistic market value for this 10" AFH '43?
