brad k Posted March 8, 2021 Author Share #7 Posted March 8, 2021 black army is usually a colt referance but I don't know why it couldn't apply to the remington umc also. the colts and remingtons from this time, late 1918 were not as finely polished so the finish is more flat blue and both colt and rem. pistols had bad finish preparation so that the bluing flakes off in places. a lot of the remingtons I've seen have no finish at all remaining.
