mach1derful Posted March 3, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2021 A buddy of mine had a box full of b units for years. His kids at some point opened all the cans and picked at the candy and used the cans as target practice so he had a mixed lot of contents sitting around. Biscuits, hard candy, caramels, sugar cubes, coffee. There was a couple unopened cans both dated 1942. The lot of components vary - confection and some have a metal Barrington Hall coffee tin and some are the soluble coffee packets. All had domino sugar tablets. Anyways, I thought was a good opportunity to photograph the contents recreating a period scene. Some of the components were missing or damaged but I was able to salvage 8 complete sets of b unit contents plus the two unopened cans.

Hopefully, though I can make the best of it with the preservation of the components I have done so can be used for research and display.
katieony Posted March 5, 2021 Share #6 Posted March 5, 2021 Very interesting. You don't get to see the loose contents very often. Thanks for posting the pics!
