Indexred Posted March 3, 2021 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2021 At last weekend’s militaria show in Livonia, Michigan, I spotted a support belt that belonged to a Detroit soldier who served with the 736th Tank Battalion (Special). The unit was attached to the 83rd Infantry Division on February 25, 1945 when he was KIA. Today he rests at the Netherlands American Cemetery. The dealer who had the belt obtained it from the soldier’s nephew. I don’t think the dealer sold it. Has anybody seen such a belt? Looks like a belt for weight lifting. Anyhow, I thought it was worth sharing a couple pictures.
Indexred Posted March 3, 2021 Author Share #2 Posted March 3, 2021 The dead soldier apparently served in the Pacific with the 775th Tank Battalion before being assigned to the 736th. Maybe he was wounded and thus reassigned. Not sure.
