Found this and assume it's for the Garand, but I don't know much about this sort of thing.

What's it for, and what timeframe? Thanks

And it looks like this is a post-war commercial sling. Correct?

OLDNAVYNUKESPOOK

M1907 Sling correct for 1903 Springfield, Garand. Appears to be sufficiently old enough to be WWI. Missing one keeper.  The Boyt is vintage "Five Star" but, yes, commercial as indicated by the taper.

Your M1907 looks like it may have been shortened or at least had the rivets on one frog replaced.

The Boyt sling is commercial, I bet it is also only 1" wide vs. a 1 1/4" M1907. The shape of the hooks, number of rivets and the marking style are a dead giveaway.

Boyt made GI slings too.

The M1907 sling was used on the '03, '03A3, M1 Garand, M1917 and could also be used on any rifle or shotgun with 1 1/4" sling swivels, so you see them on trench guns as well.

To this day, tsome target shooters still use reproductions on M14 type rifles and AR15's etc. in competition.
