vintageproductions Posted February 26, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2021 Okay, this one has me stumped. It is a tropical wool four pocket officers style jacket. The buttons look civilian the way they are domed. The enameled wings are worn almost like rank on the epaulettes. Is it just a patriotic piece, or instructor, air warning, etc....? Thanks. manayunkman Posted February 26, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2021 Maybe something associated with the Civil Air Patrol pre 1947? Is there a label in it? Any sign of ever having a wing applied? The jacket doesn’t look like an officer? It sure is interesting.
vintageproductions Posted February 26, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted February 26, 2021 It is not CAP. There is no label, or I would have shown it. No wings ever applied.
gwb123 Posted February 26, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2021 Could be for an entertainer, USO or otherwise, as well. No real idea.
vintageproductions Posted February 26, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted February 26, 2021 John Cook aka Cookieman, who knows more about Pilot Training programs / CPT thinks it could be one of the many flight schools during WWII.
