Eric Posted February 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2021 Recently got this M-209-B converter from an older collection I bought. Would like to receive some more information and opinions on it. Is it original ww2? To me it looks okay. Would like to hear more about it. Comes in an OD7 bag with a M-210 message book.
Persian Gulf Command Posted February 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2021 Nice and original WW2 (1944) issue. Also appears to have the tweezers that are often missing.

Persian Gulf Command Posted February 27, 2021 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2021 If you find two of the U-shaped screwdrivers let me know as I need one also. This is what they look like:
Eric Posted February 28, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted February 28, 2021 Screwdriver looks like something that could be easily fabricated. Find a vintage screwdriver and use a multitool to sand the U shape? I think it's impossible to find one in the wild.
Fixbayonets! Posted March 3, 2021 Share #7 Posted March 3, 2021 A few years ago I bought an excellent set of reproduction M-209 screwdriver & tweezer on eBay. Not sure if he still offers them. Rob
TheGrayGhost Posted March 9, 2021 Share #8 Posted March 9, 2021 I fabricated my screwdriver out of a modern production "pocket" screwdriver. Was simple and easy to do, just notched the tip and sanded off the markings on the handle. I don't remember exactly where I got it, probably Amazon or eBay. Here is my complete M-209-B setup: For anyone interested in these machines and wanting to connect with some extremely knowledgable and helpful enthusiasts, I recommend checking out the M-209 Cipher Machine Group: https://www.nf6x.net/groups/m209group/
