I bought this W.W.2 pilot wings from a guy who got them from an estate from colonel roberts son that was selling his stuff. the wing is a amico sterling p.b. it seems when mfg it had been struck with a little to much pressure, where it deepened the inner shield and raised the edge where the maker's name is stamped. anyway colonel roberts by the way had a career in the us army air corps during WW2 he led bombing missions on japan and had assignments in guam and the pacific rim, later he was a director of the joint strategic targeting planning staff during his stay in vietnam in the 60's his headquarters where he lived and worked was attacked during the tet offensive. and theres more his life story go's on and on.
