Not finding much on this 1990s style of helmet mounted Aviators night vision setup. Recently added to the collection, now I just need the helmet to go with them... lol. What I have learned is that they are mid 90s vintage and used by F-18, F-14 and AV-8... and later, until when I am not sure, A-6 guys. Made in England by GEC Avionics and now obsolete. Some may see 3 holes in the top of their helmets that are usually taped over. These are the holes that would be used for the "T" bracket that would be used to attach the device to the helmet. Pretty floored that I found them and even more so that they work. If anyone has any leads on publications, information or anything on this device please share. It would be greatly appreciated.

Indeed it does, but that's a very rare setup though, very few pics came out. Nice find, Hutch !

Found a couple more pics (mostly ads) :

- Both pictures above are related to the AV-8B Harrier2 in its FLIR / Night Attack version.

From what I was reading from some USAF NVG articles, the Air National Guard also apparently used a Catseye setup before the use of ANVIS on fixed wing apps in the 90s.  Doesnt say which airframes it was used in though, I would guy possibly the A-10 back then.

Some of the early HGU-68 tacair helmets were drilled for the T bracket.

Hello Horrid!

Can you show how the cables from the optic attach to the mount? Also, can you show the battery compartment or its location on the mount?

Not sure if it's polite to ask, but I'd love to know how much you paid for these beauties.
