Hi everyone,

I recently picked up this Vietnamese made Beach-ball style boonie, but I can’t find out what pattern it is. I feel like I’ve seen this pattern before on the forum, but for the life of me can’t find it. Any help is appreciated!

Damn, thought it was a good one. Do you know when this was put together? Here’s a picture of the inside if it helps

Got off of eBay last month. Entirely possible you’ve owned it before. Didn’t pay too much so it’ll still make a good sunbathing hat

Cap Camouflage Pattern I

I've never been able to find out much about this pattern but it is pre 90s and pretty uncommon. I think it is mostly likely it was made in the 80s, but it may have been introduced in the late 70s. The style is of course the ARVN "beachball", which while similar to the standard PAVN boonie has a much smaller brim. My guess is this boonie was probably made in the 90s when uniforms in this camo would have been more available as surplus.

Yeah, the cloth is rubbery. Crinkles a lot when you fold/bend it
