Polski Posted February 18, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2021 I acquired this airborne oval several years ago. It came with an identified grouping of 11th Airborne items - shoulder patches, ovals, cap badge, etc. I have never been able to figure out which outfit this paratroopers oval represents. I'm not sure how true the colors are as it is a bullion hand-made patch. Any ideas?
Airborne-Hunter Posted February 19, 2021 Share #2 Posted February 19, 2021 Its more than likely 221st Airborne Medical Company. This is the 2nd or 3rd one I have seen - colors are Purple - Silver (could be white as they always seem to be bullion) and Blue. See mine attached. Mine is concretely identified to the 221st Medical. Note the border is made the same. The center blue is a different color and felt on yours, but I don't think its much of an issue. The back on mine is very similar to yours. If you have the name there is a nearly complete 221st roster available. Best ABN
Airborne-Hunter Posted February 19, 2021 Share #3 Posted February 19, 2021 This topic is in the latest finds. It should probably be moved to the patch category. ABN
Matt-M Posted February 20, 2021 Share #4 Posted February 20, 2021 I would agree with AH as to the ID and add that with the white backing, suggests that it is Japanese made. M.
