Unknown possible WAC purse component

Is anyone here knowledgable on WAC items from WW2? I found this item and want to know if it is a WAC purse component.

Strictly civilian.  Not WAC, or any other service, related.

In Volume Two, Dressed for Duty by J. H. Smith, page 323, there is a photo of this same case, It held a pair of what she identifies as WAC/ANC folding slippers.

I agree with Brian. I looked in my Dressed for Duty book and this is just as he stated.
