Vincennes Posted February 12, 2021 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2021 Just browsing the www I came across several posts about a skull recovered by a dredging crew in Pearl Harbor in April, 2011. It was believed to belong to a Japanese pilot or aircraft crewman who was shot down during the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. (See for example https://phys.org/news/2011-07-historian-japanese-airmen-skull.html). I tried to find a follow up article, but had no luck. I did find a post by the Pearl Harbor Visitors Bureau apparently from June 2018 (that's the date of the first comment) at https://visitpearlharbor.org/happened-japanese-fighters-shot/ which states: "In 2011, an exploration crew found a remnant of the Japanese invasion in the form of a human skull thought to belong to a Japanese pilot." So the skull was apparently still unidentified at the time the Visitor's Bureau page was posted. Has the skull ever been identified? Paul
