No Quarter Posted February 12 Share #1 Posted February 12 Here is my group of artifacts relating to K.I. Sawyer AFB in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The AFB has been converted into a civilian airport since the base's closing in 1995. The base operated from 1955-1995 and was home to many squadrons. The base was not far from where I went to college so anything related to KI interests me. I included some photos from when I visited the base. There are several planes on display including a B-52. Enjoy! Jacob

No Quarter Posted February 12 Author Share #5 Posted February 12 They sell these pieces in the museum gift shop on base. The museum is very small and ran by former Air Force veterans. They are running out of funding which is really unfortunate, I just hope it doesn't permanently close.

No Quarter Posted February 12 Author Share #8 Posted February 12 https://kishamuseum.org/ This is the link to the museum's website. The base is in a town called Gwinn which is extremely small. It is literally in the middle of nowhere haha. If you ever find yourself in the Upper Peninsula or Marquette, Michigan, be sure to stop and visit!
