Iraqi helmet Desert Storm

I bought this at a local antique shop. The  helmet was purportedly brought back by a US Army veteran during Desert Storm. Now I am the caretaker of this helmet.

It is a M-80 Iraqi helmet with a unit marking on the right side. The liner is somewhat intact and still has dirt and sand inside. The chinstrap is missing.

There is also numerous defects and holes throughout the helmet.  I believe those are numerals in the black painted circle. Possibly the number “43”.

Very nice helmet! Looks like it took a few hits from shrapnel.

It certainly looks Iike it did.

I think it might be writing on the back of the helmet also.
