Siamundo Posted January 28, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2021 I thought this was an interesting cap for a couple of different reasons. I hadn't seen an orange and blue Messenger patch like this before, much less on a garrison cap. Also, I was not aware that Civil Defense had a hierarchy that included platoons. The Platoon Leader and N.Y.C. patches are printed on a very thin leather or vinyl like material and I am guessing glued on.

Siamundo Posted January 28, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted January 28, 2021 Aha. I would have never guessed. That makes sense now with the blue/orange colors of the patch and cap as it seems like that color combination was used on a lot of the World's Fair memorabilia I have seen in the past. Weren't there two World's Fairs in NYC? Would this be from the 1939/1940 one or the 1964/1965 one? Thank you ocs.
