Tom Pearcy Posted January 25, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2021 I had this cap made in the mid 70's, before the Camouflage covers were issued, at a sew-sew shop in Kin Okinawa. Embroidered emblem.
kammo-man Posted January 25, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2021 Tom That’s great ! How was company policy regarding camouflage covers back then ? owen
Tom Pearcy Posted January 25, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted January 25, 2021 I only wore it in the field. When I rotated back to the states, camo covers were still not being issued and I was the only one on the base wearing one, The Group Gunny was getting tired of telling me to take it off so I had to retire it. That is hilarious. Probably best to retire it, as sooner or later, the Gunny may do it for you - with your head still in it. Thank you for your service Tom. kammo-man Posted January 26, 2021 Share #7 Posted January 26, 2021 Agreed ! At the tailor shop do you remember other types of camouflage on rolls that were available? Or is that a distant memory?
Tom Pearcy Posted January 26, 2021 Author Share #8 Posted January 26, 2021 That's the only pattern I remember. I still have my PT shorts made from the same stuff.
