Question about 10th Alabama Ranger DUI

Has this DUI ever been identified other than a possible ROTC unit crest?  I couldn't find anything from the University of Alabama ROTC Program and their current unit crest is much different.  If you Google the 10th Alabama Rangers you get a lot of information about Confederate cavalry units during the Civil War referred to as Alabama Partisan Rangers listed below but their 10th Alabama Cavalry Battalion was not a Partisan Ranger outfit:

1st Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers

Reduced from 4 companies to 3; designated 18th Alabama Infantry Battalion, late 1862.

13th Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers

Consolidated with the 15th Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers, on 8 June 1863; designated 56th Alabama Cavalry, Partisan Rangers.

14th Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers

Consolidated with the 19th Alabama Cavalry Battalion on 15 April 1863; designated 7th (afterwards 9th) Alabama Cavalry.

15th Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers

Consolidated with the 13th Alabama Cavalry Battalion, Partisan Rangers on 8 June 1863; designated 56th Alabama Cavalry, Partisan Rangers.

56th Alabama Cavalry, Partisan Rangers

Organized by the consolidation of the 13th and 15th Alabama Cavalry Battalions, Partisan Rangers on 9 June 1863.

I've always wondered about this piece.  It looks like a 1960s era DUI.  So is this a fantasy piece?
