It is based on the battalion's Coat of Arms, and would not of been worn as the division it was a part of, the 11th Armored Division was inactivated after WWII and was never reactivated again. Was there a DI for the 63rd Armored Infantry Battalion ever? If there was, which has to be seen yet, then it would of been one of those unauthorized locally approved one one sees during the occupation period, German made. Coat of Arms 63rd Armored Infantry Battalion, though the scroll with motto would be omitted on the battalion.s colors, just the shield, and maybe the crest, I say maybe the crest because the crest there maybe a post war TIOH given one or a unit association addition.
