644td Posted January 16, 2021 #1 Posted January 16, 2021 Are these two oak leaves from WW2 and if so who was the maker. thanks, marty
KurtA Posted January 17, 2021 #4 Posted January 17, 2021 Post WW2. WW2 tend to be sterling due to strategic metal conservation requirements
KurtA Posted January 17, 2021 #5 Posted January 17, 2021 And as the design pattern is the very generic design started during WW2 and used in all the decades since, unless found on the original manufacture card, not possible to ID maker.
patches Posted January 17, 2021 #7 Posted January 17, 2021 Lets say WWII-50s Pin Back, some makers didn't make them in sterling,, and used non precious metals, an Economy Thing? and were given a Silver Wash, nor were maker marks put on them. ditto on the other grades made in this manner IE Lieutenants, Captains etc, a Gold Wash where applicable etc ,
644td Posted January 17, 2021 Author #8 Posted January 17, 2021 I want to display a correct set with one of my WW2 Lt Col lids. I will sell/trade this for a early marked set. marty
