ADM1953 Posted January 12, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2021 I'm not a collector but I've always wanted a WWII vintage Garrand. My wife & I are cleaning out her mother's condo and we found a 40 mm shell (no projectile) in an old trunk. From what I've found, it looks to be an anti-aircraft round. The shell is marked 1943 on the base and was in a round tube case that has similar marking on the cap. The case the shell was found in looks like it is long enough to have accommodated the shell with it's projectile. Were these rounds shipped/stored in their owns cases? I'd like to get some info about this item. In which forum should I post pictures to get input on this shell casing & case?
manayunkman Posted January 12, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 12, 2021 In the firearms and ordinance section and post some pictures. Welcome aboard and hope you get a Garrand someday soon. Be careful because one thing usually leads to another.
