Question regarding Son-in-Service Pin ? Aviation related?

Hello,

I saw this pin at an antique shop and wondered if anyone could tell me what it is?    I did not see the back of it, but looks like a pin & catch on back.

Would it be WW1 era?   Would the eagle represent aviation?

I'd appreciate any information about this item.

Thanks,

Dan

The pin you found is a WW2 sweetheart, service pin. The pin is not Air Corps or Air Force specific it is just a patriotic eagle. I don't believe I've ever seen the pin with a maker's mark, just a sterling mark. By the way, $20 is a very good price.

Thank you. I appreciate that information.   My primary interest is WW1 aviation related items; but I may add this item to my collection anyway.

Thanks again for the reply and information.

You're welcome, I hope I was helpful. It's a quality piece of jewelry and would make a great addition. While it's not a steal at $20 I would buy everyone I found at that price.
