1st Army HQ Liberate a camp?

I had this question posted to me and I can’t for the life of me figure it out. Supposedly the gentleman’s father was part of 1st Army HQ and he helped liberate a camp/prison location. Does anyone know of any such thing by 1st Army HQ?

I think the only camp that 1st Army liberated was Mittelbau-Dora, the others were either the British up north, or 3rd Army and or 7th Army to the south. As to the actual headquarters company of 1st Army being in front line combat, or being even in the Van of an advance, doubtful.

Mittelbau-Dora, was liberated by the 104th Infantry Division, this division was indeed a part of the 1st Army.
