Another 1980s Medal Set In The Original Mailing Box

Here is another 1980s late claim set of medals in the original box, this one to a WW2 Vet.

The GCM is named and his Marksman Badge has been included.  One thing that's strange, 

for whatever reason, he was awarded an Asiatic-Pacific but no American Campaign Medal.

 As far as I can tell my father was never awarded an American Campaign Medal either, even though he has a Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 3 stars and an arrowhead. I always thought that it was because his time in the states between Pearl Harbor and shipment overseas was less than 6 months. Dec. '41 - Apr '42.

American Campaign Medals were out of stock for a period in the 1980’s. Reissued medal groups were shipped without them.
