Question on these Dog Tags--- same name --- different numbers WW 1 & WW 2

Hello Everyone---- Found these today---- same name --- different numbers----- two different wars---- never have seen this before--- any help will be great--- Thanks Mark

Father and son tags?  I think the WWII serial number beginning with the number 3 indicates a draftee.  I think WWI veterans were past the draft age.

Actually the same guy.  He was in the 108th Ambulance Company (with the 27th Division) in WWI, and was drafted for WWII in 1942 - received a new service number then. Looks like he got two "free" trips to Europe.
