WWIIBuff1945 Posted January 4, 2021 Share #1 Posted January 4, 2021 WWII USMC Vet Norman Sutherland Jr's S&W M1917 Revolver. He put on some cool sweetheart grips as many vets did with their personal sidearms. He was a BAR man with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment 3rd Marine Brigade, Fleet Marine Force serving in the Solomon’s Campaign. Thanks to my friend Matt for the information. BryanJ Posted January 18, 2021 Share #11 Posted January 18, 2021 That is a cool handgun. Woman on grip sort of reminded me of grandma...hope she didn’t have other work on the side.
WWIIBuff1945 Posted January 9, 2023 Author Share #12 Posted January 9, 2023 Finally received USMC Sunderlands service records from the Archives procured by Golden Arrow research! His records were 38 pages long and it was interesting to find out he served on Iwo Jima!
