P- 38 Trench Art ashtray

I have a lot of these and now just add ones that are inexpensive or that have features, I don't already have.

I have several P-38 aircraft with plexiglass propeller blades, but this is the first with the cockpit canopy made out of a piece of plexiglass.

The craftsman really shows his skill in this one-- the solder line is small and expertly completed.

Ashtray base is 105 shell.

Very nice. Always enjoy seeing the elaborate transformations into planes and such. First time I ever saw the canopy made of plexiglass. Thank you for sharing.

Really like that one.  Any idea on "Royal McShea" and his service?

Thanks for sharing.

Kansas Raider

He was part of the ground crew of the 343rd for 2nd Lt. James C. McVey. He is buried In Kechi, Kansas. I wonder how many of these planes he made? Steve
