Hello everyone,

I need help with a helmet that I have purchased. I know it's a WWII M1 helmet shell front seam but I would like to know the manufacturer and when it was made. It has a mark that is appreciated and I think it is 408C.

Can someone help me please? I add images.
Thank you!

from the side view I think its a McCord.

Take a look at the crimp marks on the front seam.

If the crimps are Oval its a McCord. If they are circles, its a schluter.

Make sure you dont sand the paint down to read the heat stamp.

Sanding down the paint to read the heat stamp ruins the value.

The heat stamp is not important. It has a stainless rim, its WW2 Produced.
