MinorInHistory Posted December 14, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2020 Hey y’all, I’m not an expert on Air Force uniforms, but I like this one and I was wondering if anyone had any info on the man, a “Major Fitzhugh” in the “492nd.” The grouping also came with a air navigation device of some sort. Thanks for looking!
Randy Posted January 23, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 23, 2021 492 could be the 492 Tac Fighter Sq. There are not many 492 units in the USAF, really just that one in his timeframe. By the ribbons he was around in the 80s at least, and worked with the navy at some point. For a command pilot there is a lack of any aviation awards, which is odd but not impossible post SEA and prior to Desert Storm. Randy
trenchbuff Posted January 24, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 24, 2021 Interesting ribbons with 3 Armed Forces Expeditionary medals and National Defense medal (Desert Storm probably). He was busy with overseas operations but I guess not in the air.
