strawberry 9 Posted December 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2020 I recently bought this on Ebay. It was advertised as an armored headquarters liner. I have another painted armor liner and it has a yellow rim. Anybody know what this one would be? Does the red rim suggest artillery? Thank in advance. GITom1944 Posted December 11, 2020 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2020 I was watching that liner but opted not to bid because I already have two with similar markings. I ID'd one of mine to a soldiers who was with the cadre at Fort Knox during WW2. Check out this thread: https://www.usmilitariaforumcom/forums/index.php?/topic/273470-pls-help-identifying-insignia-on-m1-liner/&tab=comments#comment-2200728 . A number of armor units used these kinds of markings. Here's a composite of a few posted here on the forum. Mine are the two at the bottom.
