WW2 id’d splotch hand camouflaged canteen

Hand camouflaged 2nd pattern canteen that belonged to LEONARD LITTERAL who was part of the 2nd Marine division.  
 

Ive never seen another splotch camo canteen, and this ones a salty dog, but it’s been there and done it. 

I find it fascinating how the dirt, grime and general environment attach itself to the material and lock in its characteristic for years and years after for us all to look at. 
Really shows what they went through and how good the actual material was that they where using.

Hi Dean.

Very nice cover, I got excited when I saw the stenciled name as I have a canvas bayonet cover stenciled with a name which I thought was the same as yours but on closer inspection mine is H.W.LITTERELI.
