Phantomf4 Posted December 3, 2020 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2020 After years of negotiating with a neighbor i finally got this certificate. I knew Mr White years ago and he would tell me stories of his years in the USMC. My neighbor bought a old rock school house that Mr. White owned and would come too a couple times a year that was across the road from my house. This was hanging in it along with some Chinese and Japanese artwork. I thought i'd share it because of the historical value and because Mr. White was a kind and awesome man. Phantomf4 Posted December 3, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted December 3, 2020 Some more history on Mr. White that he told me was, he was the USMC attache to Chiang Kai-shek, and he was with him when he left mainland China. Chiang gave him a autographed photo and some other things as they where friends. Mr. White retired as a Colonel. He was reassigned before the Indianapolis was sunk so he wasn't on board when it got torpedoed, but he told me that he lost alot of friends. From what i remember he was the commanding officer of the Marine Corp attachment on the Indianapolis.
