I have not yet. I am hopingvto see a unit yard long photo.

Very nice helmet.  He shows up in FOLD 3 as part of the 643rd Aero Supply Squadron.  Do you have a subscription to FOLD3? If not, I can post what I find about him.

Fold3 is a fantastic research site that focuses on military records.  However, you do have to pay to use it.  However, if you are in the U.S. and your library subscribes to it, you can usually access it for free.  Here is information from their website:

About Fold3®
Fold3® provides convenient access to military records, including the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served.
The records at Fold3 help you discover and share stories about these everyday heroes, forgotten soldiers, and the families that supported them. On Fold3, you can combine records found on the site with what you have in your own albums and shoeboxes to create an online memorial for someone who served.

So when he went overseas, he was with the 124th Aero Supply Squadron

By the time he returned, he had been reassigned to the 643rd Aero Supply Squadron.   BTW, congratulations on a great painted helmet!

I really appreciate the research and energy in this WW1 and the person behind. I also appreciate the new tool. I need to use it to research a couple of WW1 sets and a coupke pueces of WW2 gear.
