WwiiVet Posted November 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2020 Here another KIA tag I added to the collection. He was a TSGT and served in the 5th Division, 10th Regiment. He landed on Utah beach on July 7, 1944. He fought its way through Normandy and got KIA 29 July, 1944 by an Artillery shell.

On July 29, 1944, 10th Infantry Regiment started progressing to capture Hill 183, where a hard battle occured during two days. The 10th Regiment fought against the 3. Fallschirmjäger Division. The capture of the Hill 183 was costly for the regiment, which suffered 78 killed including one officer, 346 wounded including 23 officers and 35 missing.
