mds308 Posted November 27, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2020 OK, so I lied. It's not really being assaulted. I know what he's doing but I thought I'd have some fun with this. What he's really doing is... 1. Checking the oil. 2. Inflating a tire. 3. Checking for leaks (found one). 4. ??? 5. ??? What's your take?

mikie Posted December 10, 2020 Share #5 Posted December 10, 2020 I heard that Russian cosmonauts pee on the tires of the bus that takes them to the pad on launch day. It's supposed to be good luck.

Perhaps he was just emulating General Patton who stopped while crossing the Rhine and topped up the flow of the river. I added the arrow as part of the General was out of uniform at the time the photo was taken. regards lewis .

The Rooster Posted December 19, 2020 Share #12 Posted December 19, 2020 I was in the guard from 81-99 and that excersize was a very common occurrence. And most likely Prob still is. No body ever explained the theory behind it, but everyone did it. Made a nice shield from oncoming traffic on the highways. I read that in WW2, Allied POWS of the Germans and Italians did that because it deteriorated the tires. Maybe thats how it started. ???
