iron bender Posted November 26, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2020 Pulled the trigger on this tonight. Curious as to where/when manufactured. To me it doesn't appear to be English/German/French postwar manufactured. Possibly Japan KW era? US wartime seems like a long shot as I've never seen one in this style... vzemke Posted November 26, 2020 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2020 I suspect these were made in the ETO either during the later part of WWII or in the very early occupation period. If found them a few times in groupings from guys who didn’t serve after the war.

Airborne-Hunter Posted November 26, 2020 Share #4 Posted November 26, 2020 My understanding is that this version as well as the much harder to find bullion version with very similar characteristics to this patch were made in France. I believe there is a German bullion version as well.
iron bender Posted November 26, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted November 26, 2020 Thanks for the input guys. It makes sense it would be ETO manufactured. The embroidery work is unusual to me. Reminds me of some of my KW era Japanese made patches.
