Just picked this up and got it home. Pretty cool quilt, haven't started any research yet, but should be interesting. One of the soldiers, instead of AEF or a camp, says "Heavenly Camp".  Any input on any of the veterans shown is appreciated.

Super cool! What state did you find it in? Also . . . I'd try my hand looking up the names, but the pictures don't get big enough to read them. Any way to see blow-ups or a list?

OK . . . I found one . . .

PVT Charles Spurgeon Holdford

B. 21 June 1893 - Tennessee

D. 9 Aug 1979

Spouse: Alberta

Children: Margaret, Robert

In 1930 and 1940 US censuses, he was living in Memphis, TN, and in 1930 was a railroad conductor and in 1940 was a brakeman.

I didn't find him on any travel rolls, so maybe he served stateside only.

The common link between these guys is that they all lived in Bald Knob, Arkansas! I've done several now, and they all lived there.

OK . . . looking at this . . . I'd guess he died stateside and I would almost bet Spanish Influenza. Just a guess.

A Bald Knob American Legion Post was named for him in at least 1920 and 1921.

I think I'm down to the Fostee and Rathby (or whatever). Wondering if you could take better picture of those two names, and make sure to open that wrinkle? Particularly on the Rathby or whatever that says.
