The 10th Mountain Division was on the USS Eisenhower for the invasion of Haiti. The 10th Mountain Division's Air Assets (helicopters) and all personnel were transported

from Virginia to Haiti via aircraft carrier.

Thanks.  Didn't know that.

I found these images on a Facebook page about the history of Camp Hale, Colorado. I believe they are from 1943 or possibly 1944, when the 10th Infantry Division was stationed there. Of course the SSI depicted on the left side of the sign is that of the 7th Service Command. The image/logo on the right is identified in the posting as being an unofficial insignia adopted by the 10th Infantry Division before its current SSI was approved. In fact, one of the posts suggests that it was actually submitted for approval as the official SSI of the division, but the War Department rejected it as being too cartoonish. Does anyone know if that is true?
