Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Owen is correct.

The shoulder scroll is a complete fake as is the rank on the front.

If you can get your money back you should return it.

I'll go out on a limb here and guess you don't want to explain why so as to "not give the fakers any clues."

Did you even read what I posted?

The scroll is a obvious fake made in the late 80's, almost looks like one of the Pittsenbaugher fakes.

The ARVN rank device was made in Vietnam and sold to collectors about 20-25 years ago.

Everything else on this shirt has been removed from other garments and then sewn on here to deceive collectors.

Do I need to make it any more clear? It has nothing to do with "Not give the fakers any clues".

That is the kind of detail that is helpful. Thank you.

Are these the fakes you were talking about?

The fact that the shirt was so washed out that threw red flags to me. Show the inside of the shirt where the patches have been sewn. I'll bet it looks like it was done recently.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to tie this in with other threads, the recently sewn patches have barely left an impression into the shirt. Notice how the two original patches have left a footprint from having been pressed into the fabric.
