navyfamily Posted November 8, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2020 Hello all! I am finally getting around to ressearching some WW1 field gear I have and I can't seem to identify the unit markings on a canteen cover and cartridge belt. The cover is marked "HT 28" and either "HD 27" or "MD 27". The cartride belt reads "342" followed by an H or an R and a 35. Anyone have any ideas? Marchville1918 Posted November 8, 2020 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2020 I would say that the belt marking is 342 regiment, H Company, 35 man on the roster. cant tell what kind of regiment without a symbol like crossed rifles etc.
