capa Posted November 2, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2020 Hello All, A group of us in Columbia, South Carolina are working on some ideas to commemorate the anniversary of the Carolina Maneuvers next year. For those not familiar, they were the final, large continental training maneuvers prior to the US entering WWII in 1941. Over 350,000 troops participated in Red and Blue teams that staged mock battles over parts of North and South Carolina. We are particularly interested in any oral histories of participants and the local civilians who got to witness their towns used in skirmishes. We are also looking to host an online exhibit of photographs, objects, and newspaper articles. Please shoot me a message or feel free to jump in and reply here. Thanks in advance! Capa, Have y'all contacted the SC Military Museum out by the fairgrounds? Have you contacted McEntire? Both of these places may know some people who could help. ...Kat
