5thwingmarty Posted October 29, 2020 Share #2 Posted October 29, 2020 I believe it is a Civil Air Patrol (CAP) pilot wing.

rustywings Posted October 29, 2020 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2020 With that raised "O" superimposed on the Civil Air Patrol logo, I believe the badge represents an Observer, rather than Pilot rating.
5thwingmarty Posted October 29, 2020 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2020 That makes sense and I stand corrected. I looked on Bob's wing website (ww2wings.com) but he doesn't have any of this style posted there. I don't know if this is a post WWII version as the earlier ones had eagles and or enameled areas. rcdejesus Posted August 21, 2023 Share #7 Posted August 21, 2023 It’s CAP Mission Observer wings. I’m not sure if it’s the mini version or the regular size.
tafh63 Posted September 5, 2023 Share #8 Posted September 5, 2023 This is the prior version of the CAP Observer Wing, post WWII. They were replaced in the 1977 with the current version. I've seen a few of the old I've posted an image of the CAP Observer Wings evolution starting from top with WWII; middle post WWII 1948ish-1977; bottom current wings. I'm also attaching a photo of the relatively new Aircrew wings. I was working towards mission observer status, but with work and such never quite finished the syllabus. rustywings Posted October 2, 2023 Share #9 Posted October 2, 2023 A rather no-nonsense appearing WWII era image of a CAP Observer with visible half-wing upon her chest…
