WW1 Calvary bandoleer Mills

This has an ink stamp stamp under one flap that looks to read Mills NOV 1917. The buckle end is stamped with Mills on one side and a bunch of patented dates on the other side. The last date is Aug 9 1916. This was a part of a bundle deal and WW1 is not my wheel house. What is the ball park on this?

I know that there was a robe and a crown of thorns. The Roman guards had swords and spears but I don’t think there were any Mills bandoleers present.
