Question on DUI’s...?

I need some help with these dui’s.

 

Who and what area of operation would these have been worn?

 

I’m putting a small display of CBI Items together and would like to include the right ones.

 

I read where the early C46 had 4 prop blades and were eventually replaced with 3 prop blades.  A hump pilot I researched flew a C46 that had 4 props, but it was in April of 1945.

Top Left:  (A1D) Air Service Command (2nd design) 18 March 1943 - Replaced the four bladed prop design.  Type A1D is the second design which was widely worn although no sample was ever approved.

 

Top Right (A1C) Air Service Command (1st design), "A1C is not in conformity with the authorization in that the propeller hub is blue, not red and there is a peculiar white enamel trapazoidal section between the wings which is not mentioned in the design."

 

Are there names/hallmarks on the 1st Troop Carrier Command (1L) and Air Transport Command (A2) DI's?

Only  “Sterling” on the Troop Carrier and ATC.

 

The 3 blade prop is “LeVelle” and the 4 blade is “Metal Arts Co.”

That checks out on the (A1D), (29 x 23 mm.) Le Velle & Co. Sterling. Common.

 

4 Blade - (A1C) (29 x 26 mm.)  Robbins Co., Bastian Bros., and Metal Arts Co., Sterling. Common approved type.

 

ATC looks like the (A2A) (31 mm. ) NHM. Gold plate with AFATC in red, white, and blue.  Uncommon.

 

The Troop Carrier Command is an (1L4) type design with the flat scroll ends but I'm not sure if it's original or a restrike.  The (1L4) in my collection is a Le Velle with flat clasps, not a pinback.  Someone else more familiar with these may know the difference.
